Distribution Designer


Job Description:

Position will support distribution design/engineering of projects being implemented among utilities in multiple states. This will include all detailed scoping, engineering, and design activities from various projects. Position will be responsible for performing detailed engineering and design of distribution projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 35kV design on various projects. Assignments cover the full range of project planning through design and construction support. The position will include reporting to project managers and performing design quality reviews.

Develop detailed Scoping/Design/Engineering plans for projects in adherence to Grid Modernization standards.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, review and perform quality assurance for design deliverables.

Telecommunications and Power Utility experience is desired.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power option.
Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, AutoCAD or Microstation.
Electrical loading and analysis programs such as CYMEDIST and CYMETCC
Profession Engineer (PE) registration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency using and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
