Lamonby recruitment are delighted to represent a family run consultancy based near Burgess Hill who are currently recruiting for an Architectural Technician. The company is well established and specialise in the design, engineering and manufacture of luxury bespoke oak framed buildings.
As an Architectural Technician, you will be working within a team of architects and technicians reporting to the associate. Types of projects you will be working on will be varied, anything from bespoke furniture to full oak frame buildings.
You'll need to have excellent organisational skills, be a good people person and will take enjoyment in creating your own procedures and ways of working. Above all, you'll be a team player who enjoys taking ownership of your projects and pride in your work.
Architectural Technician Role
Preparing planning application drawing & documentation
Producing detailed working drawing packages for building regulations applications and tender packages
Producing site specific details & researching potential products
Liaising with contractors and other professionals
Obtaining & approving third party manufacturers designs
Attending regular meetings with contractors and other specialists as required
Solving problems that might occur during building
Using IT in design and project management
Keeping within financial budgets and time deadlines
Providing general support to the Technical Manager in the day to day function of the department
Role Requirements and Qualifications
You'll hold a relevant Architectural/ Construction qualification (minimum foundation degree level)
Strong working knowledge in AutoCAD
You'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience
You'll have knowledge of issues pertinent to architecture, design, planning, and building regulations
You'll have the ability to undertake working drawing package design in-house if required and to manage and assess external designs.
Timber framing experience is preferred but no essential
