Site Reliability Engineer - Remote

To support our new platform, we understand that a wide range of skills are necessary and those skills can only be satisfied through a self-organized and highly cohesive team. Our goal is to apply high degree of engineering to dramatically bring down manual processing of production support and service management. This means we need talents who are passionate with engineering, but love to learn and collaborate with their peers continually, to ensure the team is constantly evolving together. A role should not define you, therefore we prefer to work with people that have well-honed skills, experience and knowledge in varying specialisms. That is hard to portray in a job description, so we have listed a few key areas that would be important to the role and you would be expected to be strong in some of them

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in critical production environments
• Very strong DevOps skill set with expertise CI/CD automation, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Nexus, and Git
• Experience programming in at least two of the following languages: Java, Groovy, Scala, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, PowerShell or Shell
• Provisioning components and services using ARM & Helm chart Templates
• Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
• Experience in deploying and managing Istio for service mesh patterns
• Experience in some of these Azure technologies App Gateway, API Manager, AKS, CosmosDB, Azure SQL, Azure Firewall
• Experience in setting up Logging, Monitoring & Alerting using tools or bespoke development for large scale applications
• Experience in Log analysis and correlation for setting up custom monitoring and analysis of application behaviours
• Building and Maintaining micro service architecture that with REST API’s
• Proficient in monitoring tools e.g. Azure Monitor/Log Analytics/Dynatrace/Splunk
• Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills and a sense of ownership
• Working in an Agile environment
• Experience architecting, developing, and troubleshooting large scale systems
• Linux operating system level experience (e.g. filesystems, system calls)
• Experience with algorithms and data structures
• Experience in writing Terraform scripts for infrastructure and application deployments
• DB provisioning and/or tuning
• Apache Kafka
• SQL, GraphQL, or Type Script
• Automated Testing frameworks

Key skills include:

• Computer Science and/or Engineering degrees are preferred while other degree subjects may be considered
• A well-rounded academic background is important
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
