Working for HMRC Estates Job description As the Building Manager to our Regional Centre you will ensure HMRC meets our responsibilities for Health & Safety/Incident Control management and Security provision.

You will be a key figure in responding to any incident that occurs and have day-to-day responsibility for ensuring delivery of operational security at the specialist/transitional site The successful candidate will be expected to effectively manage risk to people, data and property.

Responsibilities The key areas of responsibility are recognised as but are not limited to:

• Ensure Business Continuity plans within the Regional Centre are correctly exercised and action arising taken forward.

• Assurance that a fire safety plan is in place and that the building fire safety and emergency procedures fulfil departmental and legal requirements.

• Work with H&S Manager in the team to monitor and ensure all unresolved building related risks are escalated appropriately.

• Act as interim Command & Control Team leader on behalf of the Grade 7 Lead for business continuity incidents, taking control until Grade 7 Lead is able to attend.

• Take responsibility for day-to-day resolution of any building related security issues in conjunction with the building Security Manager, including changes to the threat alert status and associated tasks. Using the security incident reporting tool to monitor trends in building related issues, taking any necessary control steps to mitigate those trends.

• Monitor customer activity and develop an understanding of customer issues, resolving or escalating where appropriate.

• Support the G7 Lead on more complex issues and motivate staff by instilling professional integrity and high professional customer services standards, by encouraging the broadening and deepening of customer knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS

DESIREABLE:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent NQF/QCF level 3 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) / SCQF Level 6 (Scotland), in Health and Safety Management.

WORKING PATTERN
To achieve our Customer Service ambitions the successful candidate for this vacancy will be expected to work full-time, 5/7 contract only. This would see staff routinely working Mon-Fri but allow flexibility for evening and weekend work.

In addition to this, you will need to be available for out of hours ‘On Call’ as needed in order to respond to any incidents.

On Call allowance and Unsociable Hours Payments (UHP) will be payable where applicable and in line with HMRC guidance.
