Temporary 3 -4 months.  37 Hours a week 7 am to 3 pm with some flexibility

 

 

NOTE - Location is Charminster Depot and NOT Poundbury

 

The client operates a diverse fleet of vehicles ranging from car derived vans, buses and commercial vehicles some of which are fitted with different types of specialist equipment. As a minimum you will need to have experience of working on heavy commercial vehicle chassis components and hold a LGV Class C drivers licence. The work involves carrying out all scheduled (servicing, inspections, modifications and MOT preparation) along with  unscheduled repairs, including diagnosing faults through to completing repairs which require being carried out competently first time. The post holder may be required to attend roadside breakdowns and emergencies which might be outside normal working hours. Other duties will include pressure washing and cleaning vehicles and plant, and keeping the workshop or other parts of the depot clean and tidy as required.

 

You must be prepared to work within Health & Safety guidelines and bespoke risk assessments. You will usually be based at the workshop in Charminster, however you might be asked to cover and provide support as required at other workshops in the Dorset area.

Hours of work are usually 07.00 to 15.30. Coveralls and PPE will be provided but you will need to provide protective footwear appropriate to working in a workshop environment. You will also need to provide your own tools.
