Job Description:

Full-time (36 hours per week) Centre Operations Lead contract to start on 23-05-21 until 25-07-21 with a possible extension.

Main Duties:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations at the Centre, including managing changes and improvements to the day-to-day delivery of the Curve Community Centre in consultation with senior management team, staff, service users, and stakeholders.

- Support the centre’s operational staff, providers, and stakeholders.

- Act as the Safeguarding lead and ensure compliance with all safeguarding requirements.

- Manage and support staff ensuring weekly supervision arrangements are in place; reviews and appraisals are carried out; target setting and objective planning is in place to ensure staff are effectively utilised; required training is undertaken by staff; development and support is in place for all staff.

- Responsibility for programming and scheduling of the Curve’s activities delivering a diverse range of activities and services that meet the needs of local residents.

- Organising staff rotas and workflow to ensure the Curve Community Centre is always staffed and those on rota have clearly defined duties.

- Develop and build productive contacts and networks with those that come into the Centre to help improve the delivery of the Centre and the service given to service users including overseeing the production of written communications and updates.

- Collaborate with providers and partners to ensure all commissioned / procured service delivery meets with all compliance requirements and delivers outcomes for residents. To proactively develop and manage potential and current service providers to meet current and future service needs.

Requirements:

- A good understanding of and empathy for the North Kensington Community and the complex needs of residents following the Grenfell tragedy.

- A record of working successfully with partners including negotiating, communicating and working collaboratively.

- Ability to liaise with a variety of senior internal and external colleagues.

- Ability to think strategically and be able to progress ideas and concepts to realisation.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads.

- Effective and highly competent communication skills.

- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders.

- Is resilient and resourceful an achieving objectives and overcoming resistance.

- Knowledge and understanding of ICT technologies and how they can be applied to improve service delivery.

- People management, cultural change and staff motivation.

- Resilient and able to stay calm in contentious and sensitive situations.
