Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced Procurement and Contract Management Advisor to work on a 36.25 hour per week contract role to start on the 30-10-17 until the 08-01-17 

with a likely extension.

Hours: 9:00 am 5:30 pm.

Commercial-minded, proactive, and solution oriented procurement and contract management advisor is required. Knowledge and experience of public sector tendering is essential. The department is fast-paced and manages multiple priorities. Quickly building positive customer relationships is crucial. The successful candidate will be required to update regularly business management information as required by the Client.

Candidates should have e-tendering experience (the Client's portal is Delta). The placement, while initially for three months, may continue pending recruitment.



  1. Provide support to the Assistant Solicitor to the Client (Commercial Procurement, Property, and Contracts) in the development of new contracts, contract management, spend analysis, and contractor performance monitoring to achieve best value.


  1. To work with Client services, supporting both high value complex works and the day-to-day procurement activities covering a range of goods, services, and works. To deliver projects identified on the team action plan and play a key role for the Client in streamlining procedures and commissioning value for money contracts.



  1. Undertake tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of a portfolio of corporate contracts, designing tenders that will identify cost-effective and efficient solutions while working within the relevant regulatory and internal governance frameworks.


  1. Provide positive support and guidance on a range of approaches at all stages of the procurement and commissioning cycle, which will include commercial best practice as well as a good governance grounding in local, national, and international regulation.


  1. Provide active support, advice, and coordination across for the client services in contract management and, where necessary, manage corporate contracts that have cross-service implications.






CIPS qualified or in progress, other relevant qualification, or equivalent experience
