Sales Manager / Account Manager – Machinery and Food Production / Food Processing - Home Based – Nottingham / Midlands / North of England - £35,000 - £40,000 annual salary + Bonus + Car Allowance  

Company and Role

My client is a market leading company who specialise in special purpose machinery for the food production and processing industries. They have a phenomenal reputation in the industry and dominate the UK market place. As a result of continued growth and succession they are now looking to recruit an external Sales Manager to cover Nottingham / Midlands and up to Cumbria, and it may also include occasional overseas work

 Key Responsibilities

  • This person is responsible for selling all categories / the full product range. They will initially be given a list of current customers within their territory and will be targeted on increasing revenue from up-selling and cross-selling all products. The current list includes around 130-140 customers
  • Orders can range from a few grand to around £25k
  • Utilise the product specialists in their sales to come in and do demonstrations
  • This is a home-based position in which the candidate will be responsible for managing their own diary, and attending 2-3 customer meetings / site visits a day on average
  • Responsible for generating own leads and identifying opportunities
  • Input onto CRM system and generate own appointments
  • This is a full solution based sales role
  • Targeted on total revenue of customers in the territory. Initially on current client base then will eventually lead to new business sales

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Ideally someone who has worked in food production plants / butchery and has a good understanding of the process
  • Ideally have a good level commercial sales experience
  • Special purpose machinery experience is desirable as the candidates will understands the USP’s of selling machinery, although open to industry experience
  • Someone who is happy to be exposed to abattoir environments
  • Flexibility as this role may include overseas travel
  • Have excellent personal skill
  • Be computer literate
