Job Description:

Health and Safety Engineer
Kettering, Northamptonshire
Monday – Friday
8am – 5pm
£40,000 - £45,000 PA  
Overtime paid at time and a half and double, attendance bonus paid every 6 months, private company pension, life assurance, sickness pay, private medical insurance, cash back salary sac scheme and early finish every Friday.

We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Engineer to work for a national successful FMCG company who supply for a range of industries. You can expect to work in a close team who you will support the growth of. They have grown at a record rate within the last 12 months with the turnover going from £105M up to £130M+ and they are in the process of acquiring new sites across the UK. This is a fantastic time to join such a stable and growing business.

As a Health and Safety Engineer you will be expected to:

  • Look after health and safety across the whole site
  • Report into the Engineering Manager
  • Be responsible for site water treatment
  • Take charge of site risk assessments and site inductions
  • Oversee daily site health and safety inspections – E.g. PPE checks
  • Follow up accident reports and investigations
  • Keep manual handing training up to date
  • Manage new starter health and safety presentations and be responsible for site tours.

The successful Health and Safety Engineer will need:  

  • To hold an NVQ / City & Guilds level 3 or above qualification within engineering, mechanical or electrical bias.
  • To be a team player and help the site to be as successful as possible
  • To hold experience within a fast pace environment. It would be advantageous if this was within a manufacturing FMCG environment.
  • It would also be advantageous if you held a NEBOSH qualification.
