About the role:

Do you want to inspire, strategically lead and develop the Permitting and Licensing Team?

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you'll be managing a diverse and committed team who:

  • Assess and determine around 2,000 drilling permits per year across the former coal fields of Great Britain and;
  • Assess and determine complex statutory and non-statutory licence applications in accordance with the Coal Industry Act 1994 and;
  • Ensure our processes and systems are up to date and follow latest government best practice and guidance and;
  • Deliver accurate and prompt advice and guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders on technical matters relating to the above.

About you:

You will ideally be a strategic thinker, with experience in leading diverse technical teams to achieve regulatory outcomes.

You will ideally have experience in managing a customer service with budgetary capacity and skilled in the product and process improvements to improve outcomes and meet key performance indicators.

You will ideally be skilled in project managing complex regulatory applications and assessing technical data. Furthermore, you will be skilled in negotiation and stakeholder management with a can-do attitude.

You will ideally have experience of operating in a regulatory environment and dealing with other public bodies, commercial consultants and the general public.

You will ideally have knowledge of mining legacy issues, forms of geological / mapping data, forms of legal agreements and sustainable development relating to infrastructure.

You will ideally have a higher level qualification in a mining/ geological/ engineering based degree and be able to apply this to emerging technologies
