Business Analyst – Agile, Application Development, FS

World class investment management company in Edinburgh experiencing significant growth in the UK and Europe.

The Business Analyst team is expanding and they are seeking a mid-level BA with ambition, drive and passion for tech development.

The team is responsible for custom and packaged software development, they work primarily with Oracle and SQL databases on portfolio modelling, trading accounting and compliance programs that are essential to the business

The immediate priority for the analyst will be to assist business areas in becoming compliant with upcoming regulatory changes, however they will be expected to work across several projects and programmes

The successful candidate will work closely with key business stakeholders in these areas to understand their challenges and requirements and help develop scalable and flexible solutions.

 The candidate should therefore be comfortable with gathering and documenting requirements from all levels of stakeholders and questioning current processes and procedures.

The candidate should also have a thorough understanding of the full software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to collaborating with UX designers, technical architects, developers, and testers to enable delivery of scalable solutions.

Essential experience:

• Business Analysis – 3- 8 years’ experience
• Working with end users, business stakeholders, and product owners to establish business needs
• Working with UX Designers, Technical Leads/Solution Designers to facilitate application development
• Supporting developers and testers during build phase to ensure the integrity of requirements
• Collaborating with other analysts on projects and programmes of work
• Working knowledge of build process for client/user facing applications
• agile methodologies
• assess analysis requests and project works and provide high level estimates
• Documentation of high quality analysis deliverables, such as process maps, user stories
