Job Description:

A leading law firm is requiring a Business Analyst to join them on a permanent basis at their offices in Southampton with some remote working also available.

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Business Analyst to become an integral part of the firm's IT team located in Southampton.

The Business Analysis team's remit is to support project delivery, identifying business needs and opportunities for improving process efficiencies. As part of a small but established Business Analysis team you will work on a wide variety of projects, liaising with internal business areas to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate stakeholder requirements.

The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to identify improvements and opportunities, whilst producing project mandates and comprehensive business cases. Ensuring an appropriate range of requirements are taken into consideration and appropriately documented.

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Ensuring that business analysis activities are identified, understood and fully communicated to all stakeholders
  • Planning all business analysis activities. Identify what the correct approach should be for a particular piece of work, and what tools and techniques to use
  • Researching to determine whether a solution for the business requirements currently exists internally or externally and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
  • Eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements using the firm's agreed business analysis best practice framework
  • Ensuring that business analysis activities are completed on time to the correct quality. Proactively raising any concerns as required
  • Prioritising requirements and manage changes
  • Effectively negotiating and resolving conflict between stakeholders
  • Providing support for testing, implementation and training activities to ensure the seamless delivery of change

Skills / Experience Required

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in business analysis delivery
  • Experience of a range of requirement elicitation and documentation techniques
  • Effective influencing, communication, and commercial skills - clearly conveying information via a variety of different methods targeted at varying audiences
  • Ability to proactively investigate third party providers, transitioning tasks from initial conversations through to delivery
  • A relevant qualification from the BCS or IIBA in business analysis is desirable
  • Prior experience of the legal or similar professional sector is desirable
  • A strong commercial mind-set to drive value for the business
  • Self-motivated and a proactive approach to daily tasks
  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively with a team
  • Organised and calm when working to high pressure deadlines, motivating individuals and getting involved as required

Salary on offer in the region of £40,000 per annum plus the below benefits -
