Digital infrastructure Manager needed in Hengoed £22.73ph ref 5172626

Full time hours on a temporary basis.

Under the general direction of the Digital Services Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Digital Infrastructure team.

Responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and retirement of systems.

Responsible for the infrastructure service that enables delivery of customer facing IT services.

Ensure the organisation’s infrastructure is fit for purpose for leading transformational change whilst delivering effective and secure customer focused digital services.

Embedding a culture of resilience, reliability, and value for money through the delivery of services through a combination of on premise, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.

Lead a team of professionals to deliver effective and efficient Digital Services. With key responsibility for staff management, supplier management, standards and procedures, strategy, monitoring and reporting, infrastructure software.

The Infrastructure Manager will oversee four functional areas

Networking

The Infrastructure Manager will manage the staff and equipment that handles switching, routing and where necessary perimeter devices such as but not limited to firewalls.

Servers

The Infrastructure Manager must have a good understanding of server technologies and the service team. These include, but not limited to:

All operating systems.

All physical and virtual servers.

Storage and backups.

Disaster recovery.

Physical Cabling

The Infrastructure Manager will be well versed on all types of physical and fibre optic cabling.

A robust knowledge of data transfer speeds and impact on the business.

The ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, agree access agreements, establish service level agreements when appropriate, ensure correct and effective contracts are in place for services under the team’s control.

Standards and Procedures

Ensure effective standards and procedures are in place for the service and team.
