Reporting to the Director of CCG’s Risk and Intelligence Service (RIS), this is a key leadership role for either an Operational Delivery, Tax or Analytical Professional, with responsibility to shape the future Compliance in HMRC using data, intelligence, analysis and insight to support the delivery of HMRC’s strategic objectives. The Strategic Picture of Risking is HMRC’s top-level assessment of our key compliance risks.   Job description The Deputy Director RIS Analysis plays an important role in driving the HMRC’s future compliance model and aims to:

Provide analytical insight into compliance risks and threats to inform key compliance priorities, planning and decision making at all levels.
Design and innovate risk and intelligence models, tools and services to delivery partners in HMRC and across Government.

Invest in and support the development of our people, their skills and tools, fostering a supportive, professional and respectful working environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Deliver HMRC’s Strategic Picture of Risk and Organised Crime Threat Assessment providing strategic assessment of compliance risks across the full landscape of HMRC taxes and customer populations.
  • Deliver a programme of Intelligence Assessments working confidently with a wide range of partners in HMRC and across government (including Law enforcement and intelligence agencies and cabinet office).
  • Deliver a Programme exploiting innovative use of data and technology to drive efficiency and compliance improvements.
  • Maintain the analytical integrity of effective HMRCs strategic risking tool “Connect” and support development of the development of future “Connect” capability and services.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of civil and criminal intervention packages across CCG and beyond. Improve the performance of CCG Interventions through better risk models, and by supporting the design of interventions.
  • Extend and Improve the quality and range of tailored analytical products to positively influence the design and delivery of HMRC policies, processes and operational prioritisation and planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the range of analytical services provided to Compliance partners to enable improved compliance outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to RIS-wide programme of >50 analytical innovation projects providing focus on delivery of value for money, benefits realisation and change management into live services.
  • Successfully lead people through a period of significant transformational change and ambiguity.
  • Build and improve the analytic capability to exploit latest data and technology opportunities.
  • Be a pro-active and effective corporate and inclusive leader in line with HMRC values, as a key member of RIS senior leadership team and wider in HMRC.
