Job Description:
Lamonby recruitment have an exciting new position for an Architectural Technician (Technologist) to join our client, a leading and award winning Civil, Structural and architectural design consultancy based near Norwich who undertake projects from inception to completion.
This is a varied role with the successful technician to be responsible for a range of duties such as for producing high-quality construction drawings, liaising with clients and construction professionals as well as preparing packages in line with planning and building regulations. Projects are roughly 70% in the residential sector for housing developers with the remaining 30% made up of commercial and leisure projects. Ideally, you will have had experience using both AutoCAD and Revit, be qualified in an Architectural discipline and will have 2 - 5 years’ experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Produce initial appraisal schemes, concept layouts and high-quality final planning layouts.
- Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines, working collaboratively with external consultants.
- Produce technical and working drawings and details.
- Produce freehand drawings as well as technical detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
- Working closely with clients, Architects and other building professionals,
- Preparing specifications for construction work.
- Preparing drawings, plans and documents for projects.
- Be familiar with both the Planning and Building Regulations system to prepare packages and make submissions.
- Obtaining and evaluating tenders and contracts under supervision.
- Preparing status updates of projects by reporting progress, costs, problems resolved and any amendments to the design.
Role Requirements
- HNC, HND or Degree in Architectural Technology or similar
- 2 - 5 years’ experience
- Experience with both AutoCAD and Revit advantageous
- Residential experience imperative with experience in other sectors seen as a bonus
- Excellent design skills with good hand drawing / sketching ability together with good written and communication skills is essential.
