  • £60,000 - £80,000 basic salary
  • Company car or car allowance c£7,000

Location: The ideal candidate will be based in any one of the following counties: Leicestershire, Rutland, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire

 

 

 

Once again, it’s a privilege to be representing a multi-million-pound UK based plastic injection moulding business with a presence in over 10 locations worldwide. This company has a great vision and plans to diversify their business into new market sectors and as such, they are looking to recruit a tenacious and new business-orientated Business Development Manager to play an integral part in growing the industrial plastics revenue stream into an £8m+ business.

This role will provide the successful Business Development Manager with the autonomy to grow the business and to execute creative ideas relating to sales, marketing and business development. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to have a direct impact on executing commercial strategies, increasing market share, growing your team and creating your progression within the business.

 

 

The role of the Business Development Manager will be as follows:

 

 

  • Develop a multi-million-pound revenue stream over the next five years
  • Take ownership of the entire sales process from lead generation, pre-qualification, face to face meetings with prospective clients, technical/commercial evaluation and closing sales
  • Conduct customer commercial and technical presentations to present plastic injection moulding engineering capabilities
  • You will spend two days per week working from the office and three days per week visiting clients face to face
  • 100% new business/customer generation selling bespoke solutions related to injection moulding project-based work
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product support and education
  • Understanding the clients manufacturing process to propose the best solution and to establish manufacturing expenditure budgets
  • Promote engineering capabilities related to product concept, NPI, rapid prototyping, tooling, industrialisation and volume manufacturing
  • Technically you will be responsible for understanding the client’s requirements, review technical documentation as well as commercial contract/terms negotiation, creating quotes and closing sales
  • Analysing customers, market trends, costs and sales as well as producing sales reports
  • Play an integral part in the marketing aspect of the business such as the creation of a new website, marketing material and attending tradeshows and exhibitions
  • Project sales values will range from £250,000 - £2m contracts

 

The ideal Business Development Manager will have a combination of the following:

 

 

  • A proven track record in selling technical engineering solutions
  • Plastics injection moulding, materials engineering, tooling, rapid prototyping and materials engineering sales is highly desirable but not a prerequisite
  • A suitable engineering qualification
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion and natural hunter instinct when it comes to new business development
