Job Description:

Lamonby Recruitment are delighted to represent a consultancy based in Birmingham who are specialists in Building Control. We are looking for an experienced Building Control Surveyor and in return our client is offering a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package, career opportunities and annual performance related bonuses to the successful Surveyor.

The successful building control surveyor will be a passionate individual who is confident in their own ability. You will be working directly under the Associate/Director, so you must be enthusiastic and driven as part of your role will be tasked to bring on new business and compete against local authority and other consultancies as they are looking to expand their building control presence in the area.

Building Control Surveyor Role

Ensuring that all team applications are determined within the required timescale.

Managing and checking building control applications and related documents for compliance with the Building Regulations and allied legislation and responding to related correspondence.

Carrying out site inspections and other associated duties including recording of visits.

Attending and contributing to meetings

Dealing with demolition notices and associated documentation, including monitoring conditions as necessary.

Providing professional advice and excellent customer service to customers by phone, in writing and face to face.

Report writing.

Role Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates ideally will have a MRICS, MBEng or MCIOB qualification (or be working towards)

5 years’ experience within a similar role. 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to develop the business by introducing new clients and expanding the workload.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint etc) and in data analysis software/programmes The ability to use your own initiative to solve challenges Competency at checking own work to confirm accuracy Awareness of local government procedures Full driving licence

Building Control Surveyor Package

  • Salary up to £55,000 dependant on experience
  • 25 days’ holiday plus stats
