Our clients' Data Analysts work within a Water Technical team to provide specific data management support on water and / or wastewater projects to drive increased intelligence for internal and/or external benefit, enhance data driven insights and processes.

The Water Technical is comprised of Engineers, Modellers and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry, providing challenges and opportunities which require innovation, dedication and team work.

The Water Technical Team has a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements in place and is ideally placed to help with reducing leakage, pollution and flooding, or improving the environment and levels of service to clients' customers. Our clients' Water business employs around 1000 highly skilled and motivated people working on projects for all of the water and sewerage companies across the UK, and most of the water-only companies. They deliver a full range of end to end water and wastewater services including data collection and analytics; modelling and risk analysis / optimisation; data visualisation and mapping; artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions; feasibility studies; outline and detailed design of capital solutions; and development of optimised, risk based, operational interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and assistance on clean water and wastewater asset management projects such as such as (but not limited to) Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans; Leakage Analytics and other projects requiring detailed technical analysis. A Senior Data Analyst would be responsible for delivery of these projects
  • Support senior team members in their delivery for a range of water and wastewater projects, whilst a Senior Data Analyst would be expected to additionally show project and team leading responsibilities to support the Team Leader / Technical Manager in the delivery for a range of clean water and wastewater projects
  • Work closely with internal and external clients to ensure delivery of large size projects are on time, within quality expectations and are financially profitable
  • Development of opportunities through client engagement
  • You will be able to provide advice and support to less experienced colleagues that may be under your line management and beyond to further their career development

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a relevant technical subject
  • Chartered / Incorporated Member of Institution e.g. CIWEM, IAM (for Senior)
  • Experience in data management or modelling background at either a consultancy, water company or regulator
  • Proficiency in MS 365 applications, advanced Excel and Visual Basic
  • Knowledge and experience of GIS packages e.g. ARC GIS, QGIS, MapInfo etc
  • Experience with working with large datasets using programming skills, data manipulation and visualisation
  • Experience in the specific understanding of programming languages such as Python, SQL, FME and Ruby Script enabling integration and enhancement of BAU activities
  • InfoWorks or InfoAsset experience
  • General understanding of the UK water industry, with a strong association to asset management
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferable
