Manufacturing test & Development Engineer 


£35,000 - £45,000 + targeted 12% Bonus + Health Care + Life Insurance + 20 days Holiday plus BH

A growing organisation is seeking an experience Electrical Test Engineer to join an expanding organisation, my client has doubled in size over the last 12 months making it a brilliant time to join the business!

The main duties for the Manufacturing Test Engineer will be:

  • Design, build and troubleshoot mechanical, data acquisition and control systems for manufacturing test equipment and automation technologies
  • Manage PCBA functional test and calibration equipment both on-site at the UK facility and off-site at PCBA contract manufacturers' facilities
  • Validate functionality of software and hardware systems following shipment from USA to UK, prior to initial deployment or following system updates  
  • Provide on-demand technical support through Production Technology Help Desk ticket system
  • Identify opportunities for new technologies and improvements to existing systems
  • Integrate test and automation systems with ERP and MES systems
  • Produce and interpret technical drawings and documentation, including drawings, operating manuals, installation instructions and work instructions to ISO standard policies
  • Interface with third-party developers to establish design and delivery requirements for contracted test and automation system development work


Skills & Experience needed to be the successful Manufacturing Test Engineer:


  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, including ability to effectively interact with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of international safety and quality standards
  • Strong analytical skills in relation to troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Knowledge of software architecture and development
  • Familiar with hand tools / soldering / electro-mechanical assembly
  • Understanding of high-voltage electrical safety practices
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with the design, build and test/validation of electromechanical systems
  • Minimum 3 years in electronics testing or relevant experience
  • Intermediate National Instruments LabVIEW (v2014+, CLD preferred) or coding experience
