As a Finance Analyst, you will sit in the Finance, Planning and Analysis Team (FP&A), who are part of our Chief Digital Information Office Group (CDIO). Our role is to manage, report, monitor and analyse CDIO's consolidated financial position and manage the consolidated financial and workforce planning processes, including both annual and multi-year.

Additionally, we lead on the management and assurance of the balance sheet and financial governance, which includes adherence to accounting standards and policy, government VAT rules, as well as providing procurement process and system expertise.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst areas of work will include:
• Leading on the CDIO workforce management forecasting and reporting, collaborating with both CDIO and HMRC finance teams often to tight timescales
• Supporting with the consolidated financial planning
• Implementing changes to the finance system (SAP ERP) structure and master data, partnering with HMRC finance and programmes
• Application of financial and technical knowledge and experience to problem solve, influence, support and identify / resolve control and assurance weaknesses
• Presenting to and communicating with senior leaders, providing insightful management information, financial advice and assurance
• Advocate of continuous improvement, ensuring we are effective and efficient
• Working collaboratively with the wider CDIO and HMRC finance teams, to build positive relationships, as well as improve financial and operational knowledge
• Ensuring accuracy, robustness of information, including the use of data analysis techniques and providing effective challenge and interrogation
• Providing effective leadership of a critical finance team, deputising for the head of the Finance Planning and Analysis team as required, encompassing support, coaching and building capability of the wider team

Essential Criteria:

You must demonstrate the following within your application:

• Qualification: An accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) or work experience in a relevant finance function
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Demonstrable experience of planning, forecasting and financial control in a complex large organisation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience of leadership and management in a financial function role
• Advanced analytical and presentation skills that enable you to present complex financial information in a way that is understandable to your audience and leads to effective decision-making
• The ability to work in a culture of change, think strategically, and work with risk
• Senior partner engagement experience and ability to influence decision making
• Working and collaborating across team boundaries
