Capital Projects Officer needed in Newbury £14.38ph PAYE - Reference: 5180052

This role will involve:

• To assist with the implementation of the rights of way capital projects (namely pedestrian, equestrian, cycling and other improvements) within the annual Capital Programme.
• To use existing data sources; policies; rights of way database, customer contacts and stakeholders, to assist in identifying and prioritising capital improvement works according to need.
• To prepare specifications and obtain quotations/tenders from approved contractors for improvement works (where the work is outside the scope of the in-house maintenance team) and to award and manage said contracts in accordance with client’s financial, procurement and other procedures.

Ideally candidates would have:

• Experience of practical countryside management work including on-site supervision of contractors, writing of works specifications and general supervision of a small workforce
• A formal qualification in a relevant countryside, environmental, or engineering subject
• Full car driving license

This is working full time hours on a temporary contract basis
