Maintenance engineer - mechanical bias.

£42,300 + overtime paid up to double time + 15 % pension

ATA are supporting a large engineering group at one of their flagship sites in the north Nottinghamshire region. The fully automated site which has been standing in the heart of the community for over 40 years, are on track to have their best year to date, targeting to produce 90 million units by the end of 2021.  The company employ over 2000 staff across the country and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands of which have become a staple part of the British construction market. With a turnover eclipsing £400 million the business is going from strength to strength and are set to grow even further in 2021. They are now looking to add a mechanical biased maintenance engineer to their team.

About the role

This is a hands-on role which will involve the stripping and rebuilding of big mechanical components. You will be responsible for completing PPM, attending to breakdowns and you will be involved in installation and project work. Although being heavy industrial, this is also a very automated environment which will require you to maintain PLC controlled equipment including 3 phase equipment (415v), conveyors, robotics, packaging lines, palletisers, mixing equipment, kilns plus more.

The company are working towards making the site more efficient so are adopting LEAN manufacturing processes on site, therefor you will be involved project work and making production improvements.

About you

As a maintenance engineer, you should have experience working within a manufacturing or automated environment. You should possess a strong level of mechanical knowledge and have to ability to strip and rebuild mechanical components. It would be beneficial if you have had experience in a workshop environment with machining, fabrication and welding – however this isn’t essential.  You should be able to work within a large engineering team with various technical disciplines.

  • You should hold a recognised mechanical engineering qualification (Level 3 or above) city and guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HND, HNC.
