Lamonby Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a niche construction contractor specialising within the construction sector.
My client is offering the ideal candidate a package of £23,000 - £28,000 plus 25 days holiday and state pension.
Based in the North West, the successful Quantity Surveyor will be predominantly office based with an estimated 80/20 split and will report into the company director.
Key attributes include interpersonal skills and client management, professional competence and the ability to work as part of a team. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have responsibility for the quantity surveying, contractual and commercial support, within the North West.
Quantity Surveyor Role
Attend pre-contract and pre-start meetings
Check all incoming contracts and warranties and ensure that all orders and letters of intent are properly acknowledged and accepted on the same terms as the offer was made or agree the amendments.
Ensure the checking of any terms and conditions submitted by the estimating staff
Attend internal project and discipline meetings with discipline team, designers and operations teams. Ensure projects are estimated and run cost effectively, writing or assisting with the compilation of contractual correspondence in a proper and timely manner.
Maintain area commercial reporting and measurement systems
Monitor cash flow for department and maintain target average debt days
Manage the process to ensure Invoices/Applications prepared by the department are checked by individual disciplines, and are up to date on a monthly basis.
Manage the process of the reviewing and sign off sub-contractor accounts by individual disciplines
Attend group commercial and liaise with the National Commercial Manager as required.
Ensure compliance with all QA, health & safety and other statutory obligations.
Maintain and improve the professional and progressive image of the company.
Role Requirements and Qualifications
Preferably 1 -3 years’ experience within the construction sector.
You will either have a QS or Commercial Management related degree
The successful candidate will need to be fully conversant with Standard Methods of Measurement and Rules of Valuations.
