What you can expect
As a Functional Safety Engineer in the Process Industry Sector, you are responsible for ensuring that all safety instrumented systems are designed and maintained in compliance with us and IEC61508 standards, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization of all Safety Instrumented System (SIS) lifecycle activities.

o You will be responsible for providing SIS Support to capital projects, participating in SHE reviews and for reviewing and validating all critical SIS documentation.

o You will ensure the correct project handover to operations and maintenance including updating our documentation management system and SIS malfunction reporting database.

o You will implement modifications to existing SIS, ensuring the change is correctly planned, commissioned and signed off.

o You will also be responsible for the implementation of strategies to maintain the sites SIS, including proof testing, equipment life-cycle, health checks, critical spares and failure reporting with root cause analysis.

o You will drive continuous improvement and seek optimisation opportunities with all SIS life-cycle activities.

o The development and train out of SIS training packages across the site will also be part of your responsibility.

o Finally, you will ensure all EHS/ Engineering / Maintenance safe working systems, procedures and practices are followed and you will maintain good housekeeping to 5S standards.

What we expect
o You are educated ideally to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline.

o You have gained experience in Functional Safety design, implementation and testing.

o You also have experience in IEC61508/11 and are ideally a TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer.

o You have experience in the delivery of Capital Projects,

o Finally, you are competent in the use of MS Office and other engineering applications.
