Our client is Looking for an experienced Housing Options Officer to work on 37 hour per week contract role to start on the 04-12-17 until the 30-03-18 with a likely extension to the contract role. Enhanced CRB/DBS required
Hours: 8:45 am to 5:15 PM
To provide a comprehensive front-line, customer focused Housing Options service to customers seeking advice and assistance with housing.
To assess housing need and provide specialist advice and support to resolve housing issues, and prevent or relieve homelessness using creative and innovative solutions wherever possible, and having due regard to legislation and case law, government guidance and Council policy and practice.
To investigate and assess homeless applications, carrying out interviews and making decisions in accordance with Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
A good understanding of the work undertaken by Housing Options
Experience of working within housing or a housing related support service with either a local authority, registered provider or relevant voluntary or private sector organisation (including as a volunteer)
