The suitable candidate will hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding and have a minimum of 4 years experience.
You must be able to read fabrication drawings and weld sizes. and must be able to perform single and multi-run fillet welds/butt welds. You must also be competent with all general fabrication machinery and cutting equipment.
- MIG & TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, typically from 1mm up to 25mm thick
- Working from engineering drawings
- Problem solving
- Dressing and finishing
- Marking and identifying materials
- Checking that finished products comply with specifications
Some manual handling will be required, as is the use of an overhead travelling workshop crane, but training will be provided.
Current counterbalance forklift qualification a benefit but not essential.
Full-time Monday to Friday 07:30-1600, On occasion overtime is available
Salary - £30K PA
A weld test will be given at interview.
