Warehouse Operative (Wallsend) – Temporary 3 Month Contract; Full Time; Day Shift; £9.50ph!

The Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative:

• Picking orders using a hand-held scanner and ensuring they are packed and labelled correctly before shipment
• Checking for damaged or missing items and sorting stock for storage in the warehouse
• Preparing finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles; operating a fork lift
• Maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory
• Locating materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
• Documenting materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Documenting product shipment by recording units shipped.
• General 5S responsibilities to ensure warehouse is kept clean and tidy
• Responsible for ensuring safety in the workplace by the establishment of safe working practices

Skills & Experience Required of a Warehouse Operative:

• Valid Counterbalance or Reach Forklift Truck license required
• Experience within fast paced manufacturing/ warehousing environment
• Must be immediately available
• Previous experience with barcode systems and hand-held scanners advantageous
