Highway Engineer needed in Bedford paying up to £26.00 per hr PAYE Ref: 445302

This role is working full time hours on a temporary basis

Responsibilities:

1. To support Senior Highways Engineer in delivery of the outputs within the highways works programme as allocated by Principal Highways Engineer
2. Within the allocated area of work, support or carry out activities specified by the Principal or Senior Highways Engineer:

• • To prioritise the requirements and prepare an annual delivery programme
  •  
  • To devise, implement and monitor
  •  
  • To consider feasibility and prepare cost estimates
  •  
  • To manage the Signing, Lining and Street Furniture assets
  •  
  • To project manage the implementation of the programme including preparing and updating works programmes and progress reports including financial status
  •  
  • To manage any changes required to the programme.
  •  
  • To exercise budgetary control over the programme and provide early notification of over or under spend.
  •  
  • To assess problems, devise solutions, prepare business cases and implement these including liaison with interested parties.

Ideally candidates will have:

• Enhanced DBS check
• Clean and Full Driving Licence
• Knowledge of HMEP best practices
• Knowledge of the HA procedures necessary to deliver a Highways project
• Knowledge of current and emerging national, regional and local policies and strategies related to Highways related to Highways
• Relevant vocational qualifications (MEng / BEng / BSc / HNC and HND or equivalent)
