Leading with your passion for microbiology and robust scientific knowledge, in this role you will be a global technical expert within the company. Drawing on your breadth of experience you will apply your microbiology expertise to drive and develop the Preservative Strategy.

You will have a passion for the beauty industry and keep aware of preferred preservative uses across the industry. You will utilise a combination of industry knowledge, consumer insights and advancements in technology to identify next-generation opportunities for the Preservative Strategy.

As the go-to microbiology expert this role will empower you to lead innovation in the R&D microbiology laboratory. Using high attention to detail and well-developed analytical and organisational skills, you will identify opportunities for greater efficiency. Multiple years of experience are essential for this role, as you employ your skills to guide and coach the junior members of the team in areas relating to product preservation and NPD.

In addition to driving advancements and improvements in the use of cosmetic preservatives, you will use your robust, up-to-date knowledge of preservative use across the global cosmetic industry to highlight potential strengths and concerns. You will be familiar with European Cosmetics legislation on preservative ingredients and relevant consumer preferences, ensuring that the Preservative Strategy delivers results that align with commercial goals.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams around the globe. As the microbiology expert you will be able to communicate to audiences without a scientific background, equipping them with an understanding of the product.
