Senior Process Engineer

Hartlepool

We are working for a leading Chemical Tier 1 COMAH site in their search for a Senior Process Engineer for a newly developed improvement team in the business.

The successful candidate will define technology scopes and commission a suite of projects to make major improvements to site process safety protective systems and to meet the requirements of legal Codes of Practice and company EHS standards.

Salary of a Senior Process Engineer

Up to £70,000

Job Description of a Senior Process Engineer

• Define loading scopes and commission projects targeting significant improvements to safety protective systems (hardware, safety instrumented functions, process control systems and operating procedures).
• Define front-end scopes and commission change projects across the site to reduce EHS3 level risks to EHS2 or lower to ensure adherence to Company EHS standards.
• Define front-end scopes and commission projects to remove other risks identified and remove non-compliances with Codes of Practice.
• Identify and develop opportunities to improve further site process technologies to minimise risks incurred.
• Develop personal expertise and knowledge to ensure delivery of the business promise in a timely manner.

Skills & experience of a Senior Process Engineer

• Degree qualified Chemical/Mechanical Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the chemical or oil/gas sectors on a COMAH site.
• Proven experience in Process Safety and in the technical definition of complex projects.
• Knowledge of Process Safety risk assessment and risk removal including hazard studies, SIL assessment and PSSR at commissioning.
• Good knowledge of international and company Process Safety standards.
