Head of Primary Care and Place Commissioning


Job Description:

You will deputise for the Managing Director across the full range of responsibilities. You will have specific responsibilities in relation to the following areas:-

o The development and contractual management of the integrated model of health and care as it applies in the relevant place.

o Management of the relationship with local general practice and the Primary Care Networks.

o Management of the relationship with local government.

You will support the development of the local place-based team, including those staff employed by, or aligned to the local Integrated Care Partnership/Provider, contributing to the management of its work programme.

You will also be responsible for managing specific budgets linked to the commissioning portfolio.

Experience Needed

o Significant experience at senior management level.
o Extensive experience of the commissioning process across all services and all elements of the commissioning cycle, including planned and urgent acute care, community, mental health and learning disability services.
o Substantial experience of delivering strategic level advice and guidance to senior managers and Directors at both Board and sub-Board levels.
o Able to act up in the absence of the Director
o Able to work autonomously and set own priorities
o Able to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
