Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a Registered Manager for children’s home within the Blackpool area. 

As the Manager of a 4 bedded home you will be registered with OFSTED and be accountable for delivering high quality care to the children and young people that reside within the home. You will be responsible for the management and the successful day to day running of the home whilst directing a team of qualified professionals, as well as focusing on continuous strategic planning for developments within the home.

You will have the overall responsibility for the day to day running of your home and will be responsible for:

  • Gaining successful registration with OFSTED
  • Ensuring the highest quality of care
  • Managing budgets
  • Ensuring that all current legislation is met
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with children, staff, parents and professionals
  • Evidencing the management and development of your staff team
  • Developing your home on an ongoing basis

The post holder may be reasonably expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility and experience.

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Proven experience of management at a senior level within a residential setting
  • An excellent working knowledge of governing legislation
  • Level 3 Diploma (QCF) for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (in the Childrens Residential Pathway) or Equivalent eg: RMA
  • If not qualified at L5 must be able to evidence significant progress towards achieving the qualification.
  • An ability to interact with a range of people/young people
  • An ability to lead a team and to work as part of a team
  • To be able to provide consistency of care and support to the young people
  • A full UK driving licence
