Are you looking to take the next step in your sales career? We are looking for a proactive sales professional to join the sales team of this global brand, working with a variety of UK retailers to manage existing customers and deliver growth with them, and to also target new business. The role will suit someone with a background of account management and experience of fast moving consumer goods is preferred.

The role is home based but candidates must be within driving distance of Nottingham in order to attend meetings weekly. In return the company are offering a generous salary plus monthly car allowance, excellent career progression and job security working with a brand that has experienced massive growth in recent years and continues to thrive.

Key Requirements:   

  • Must have sales experience. Experience and a background of sales and account management in a similar role within FMCG is essential.
  • Commercial acumen with an ability to clearly demonstrate an understanding of financials (P&L, budgets, profitability and margins). Must be analytical and very comfortable with analysing and interpreting data.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with a creative flair for preparing and delivering outstanding presentations.
  • First class negotiation skills.
  • Provide evidence of achievement of sales targets, increase in turnover of an established client base and expansion of portfolio.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is flexible and adaptable.
  • Willing and able to travel nationally with overnight stays as and when required.
  • Willing and able to have a strong presence in the office as well as being customer facing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels within the organisation, with priority given to key decision makers, whilst representing the company interests strongly.
  • Grow UK business profitably and drive the customer category.
  • Develop, agree and implement joint customer business plans using all available resources to maximize impact and output.
  • Undertake detailed range reviews as required delivering a positive outcome for the brand.
  • Oversee the supply chain within the account through accurate forecasting and delivery using all available data in order to exceed targets.
  • Consistently and continually strive to find commercial solutions to internal and external challenges.
  • Prepare and share customer performance data using it to support proposals and challenges internally and externally.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing and product team to develop tactical marketing plans for your Accounts which support the company business plan.
  • Improve on listings for all new products and brands, agreeing additional distribution/space for brands where appropriate.
  • Develop, implement and review customer specific promotional activity
  • Establish in-store space and devise the promotional plan, POS & merchandising.
  • Use all available resources (data) to continually review and monitor competitors’ activities and market trends informing the business of all material changes that could have a business impact.
  • Responsible for the professional presentation of all ranges and new products with Head Office Buyers & Corporate clients.
  • Attend corporate launches & industry exhibitions ensuring all appropriate promotional tools are available to maximize all opportunities.
  • Carry out all necessary follow up work in a timely manner.
