Role: Export Academy Advisor

Salary: Up to £32,310 per annum

Location: Manchester/Northwest  

Contract type: Permanent

Are you experienced in International Trade, keen to help companies develop their overseas businesses? We are looking for an experienced International Trade professional, to work with, and encourage companies to consider the advantages of Exporting for their business development through delivery of an Export Academy programme of both virtual and physical events.

The successful candidate will use their international experience and skills, working with our current EA Adviser, to deliver the Export Academy core modules and to develop a Masterclass programme for companies to increase their international trade knowledge and skills, and improve their competitiveness to assist their growth via International Trade Activity.

Fully remote working options available, must be North-West based i.e., in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire or Cumbria and able to travel to deliver workshops across the NW.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your experience and advisory skills to communicate and deliver Department of International Trade Export Academy programmes, both virtually and through physical workshops, to support new and inexperienced exporters.
  • Liaise with venues, partners, and third-party trainer(s) to agree dates and locations for Export Academy programme events in co-operation with the NW Trade Events Team; chair events and build client relationships.
  • Work closely alongside the ITA teams, sharing information and looking for opportunities to add value, minimise duplication and ensure appropriate clients are effectively referred in to 1-1 international trade service and other beneficial business growth support; particularly understanding the service offer from key stakeholders for appropriate referrals.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and the network of partner organisations to ensure they have a good understanding of the Export Academy programmes and can promote the benefits to their companies.
  • Communicate and strengthen the marketing of the Export Academy both within the group and the wider Northwest business environment, including presenting at events in collaboration with partner organisations.
  • Represent the organisation at local, regional, and national meetings with internal groups and strategic partners

 

About you:

  • Likely to be educated to degree level
  • Experience and or a keen interest in international trade issues, and an understanding of international trade services
  • Excellent commercial acumen and a desire to share knowledge and experience & mentor growing companies
  • Excellent customer relations & I.T management skills
  • Ability to engage at all levels and to influence decision makers

Requirements:

  • Business experience in exporting, with ability to diagnose International Trade opportunities for company growth
  • Sales and Influencing skills
  • Experience of delivering training or excellent presentation skills.
  • Planning, organisational, administrative and project management skills
  • Car owner/driver
  • Able to travel across the Northwest when required
