Job Description of a Commercial Manager

  • Prepare detailed estimates
  • Establish and develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Attend client meetings and provide commercial and technical solutions
  • Ensure that enquiries are followed up in an efficient and professional manner
  • Balance pricing issues with customer requirements
  • Production of cost plans, benchmarking analysis of schemes
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts
  • Assign and follow-up project actions
  • Identify new opportunities and support in the development of bids / tenders
  • Supply chain performance management
  • Ensure monthly management accounts are reviewed in detail

 

Skills & experience of a Commercial Manager

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of estimating
  • Be commercially savvy
  • Effective analysis skills
  • Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability
