We are working for a leading global Tier 1 Automotive supplier in their search for a Project / Design Engineer.

You will be responsible for the generation of new products and ensuring long term product safety and reliability with detailed involvement in the project validation and testing.

Job Description of a Project/Design Engineer

• Sets goals, priorities, and allocates jobs for the product design and development department.
• Lead technical reviews, keep and maintain tracking documents related to the delivery of products.
• Take ownership of project responsibilities, producing clear and accurate designs and BOMs.
• Be fully competent with the PLM system and encourage full utilisation for document control.
• Contribute to project review meetings, organising and chairing cross-functional design reviews.
• Be responsible for the relevant design and simulation activities allocated to a specific project.

Skills & experience of a Project/Design Engineer

• A HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineer role.
• Experience of using 3D CAD ideally CREO or similar package.
• Worked in a manufacturing background with experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of designing complex assemblies and kinematics essential.
• Knowledge and experience of the automotive or engine industry.
