Job Description:

Our water industry client is seeking a Sustainability Lead to work out of their Falmer (Brighton) office (flexible/hybrid working will be considered).

The Sustainability Lead will report to the Environment plus Programme Manager and will be responsible for effecting change within operational teams building an organisational culture of trust, change awareness & acceptance to ensure change initiatives are sustained.

This role will ensure change initiatives are closely aligned with the business objectives of compliance, efficiency and customer and utilise a range of change techniques to drive sustainable change including feedback loops to ensure the a "plan do review" approach is followed

The role

  • Use a range of engagement techniques / touch points to ensure change initiatives are aligned to key business priorities and ensure buy in from key stakeholders from Area Managers through to frontline field teams
  • Build a change management programme for initiatives and plans to include robust and comprehensive communication plans. Monitor and ensure these are delivered. Build feedback mechanisms and act / respond to feedback promptly
  • Work closely with the Benefits Business Analyst to address variance, understand reasons for non-sustainable change and instigate plans to address the cultural elements of this
  • Mentor 3 seconded operators from frontline teams to carry out Operator practical assessment and hands on training for competent operator programmes
  • Work with Implementation Mangers to ensure initiatives, programmes and projects have been reviewed for change readiness and change plans are in place
  • Proactively partner with the technical training manager to ensure training for new working practices & processes are incorporated into existing training programmes

  • Enabling (by removing barriers) / facilitation strengths to drive change to embed
  • Strong organisational skills for change assessment & planning
  • Tenacity & ability to work at pace to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal & written communication with good attention to detail
  • Flexible & open to change / new ways of thinking
  • Proven track record in change management and successful delivery of change projects
  • Awareness / experience of change management techniques ADKAR / Kotter
  • Lean Six sigma
