Job Description:
IT Director
Our client is one of the UKs leading names in large format print, POS and instore retail solutions. With a creative design agency in house, they boast and end to end solution that can be tailored to client needs. Due to a restructure, they are now looking to add a new Head of IT or IT Director to the business.
The successful candidate will oversee
- Boalstering the businesses technology suite
- Responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of IT (information technology) of an organisation, including directing the effective delivery of networks and data recovery systems.
- Overseeing technical projects based on organisational goals.
- Managing a department of technical employees while also working closely with external vendors, advisors, and the management team.
Day to day you will
- Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the board
- Develop strategy as it relates to the organisation's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems)
- Researching and recommending new products
- Consult senior-level stakeholders across the organisation to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
- Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes
- Lead efforts to improve IT processes
- Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Working with IT staff to find solutions to manage business activities
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to the board, researching and recommending new products/systems
- Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
- Supervising the IT team, while working closely with management, external vendors, and advisors
- Preparing financial budgets and presenting proposals for capital projects to the board
Experience
- 10 years’ experience in an IT environment
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Experience working in a print or retail based point of sale environment would be an advantage
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the whole organisation
- Experience of negotiating with and managing third parties
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of project management principles
