Workshop Assembly Team Leader

Based in Bradford – days role

£36,000-£38,000 + 15% Bonus + Private Medical + 33 days holiday

The Company:

Part of a multi-national manufacturing group, this business is well established and a market leader in their specialist field. The company design and manufacture special purpose machinery sold into food manufacturing plants all over the world.

They are investing heavily in new plant and equipment and the order book is full. As a result, they are looking to strengthen their management tram with an assembly team leader.

The Role:

Working in a busy engineering workshop environment you will be leading a large team of skilled and semi-skilled machine assembly fitters.

  • Ensure Health & Safety standards and procedures are always followed, SOP’s are followed and risk assessments are carried out and followed for all activities
  • Coach and mentor your team to achieve productivity targets, and to ensure projects are complete within time and in budget
  • Organise and plan labour, and prioritise workload
  • Typical first line management responsibilities include recruitment, discipline, timekeeping, training and development
  • To drive a culture of Continuous improvement, using lean manufacturing methodologies to improve processes and efficiency

Required Experience:

  • A mechanically qualified engineer from an engineering or manufacturing background, ideally assembly is most suitably for this role.
  • You will have experience of managing multi-skilled teams.
  • You must have high standards and strong leadership skills
  • You will be expected to have a solid understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
