This opportunity is for a successful finance manager/financial controller who is seeking a new project to get their teeth into whilst enjoying the unique culture our client boasts.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports the MD and board in the formulation of business strategy.
- Identifies and signposts actionable steps on route to achieving company goals.
- Monitors the ongoing achievement against strategy together with the reformulation of strategy when appropriate. Uses data to set future targets.
- Review the ROCE on all investments, ensure funds are available and performance is measured.
- Reviews commercial decisions to assess the efficacy of all contracts before they are put in place.
- Acts as the gatekeeper for promotional ROI in both retail and wholesale.
- Assisting management with day-to-day IT matters and liaising with external consultants, as required.
- Delivers timely and accurate financial information to the Board.
- Provides weekly/monthly management reports to the senior team and other relevant stakeholders which informs on progress vs. budget together with recommendations for next steps/actions.
- Responsible for all financial issues, planning, budgeting, financial reporting, corporate governance, and statutory compliance.
- Rolling program for updating material and labour costs within product costings. The BOMs are accurately maintained.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to enable the directors to monitor the financial performance of the business
- Prepare VAT returns to ensure compliance with HM Revenue and Customs, in line with Post Brexit requirements.
- Provide information for the external audit to enable the auditors to complete their review as efficiently as possible.
- Manage the bank reconciliation to ensure visibility and control of the business cash situation
- Monitor and chase up outstanding debtors to ensure customer payment on time in line with credit terms
- Manage cashflow to ensure the business will have sufficient cash to meet future obligations.
- Control revenue and costs to ensure the business maximises the potential profit. Periodic review of all costings is completed.
Skills and experience:
- ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW qualified, or part-qualified and actively working towards qualification.
- Sage 200 & Sage Manufacturing.
- Advanced IT skills.
- Product costing knowledge & experience.
- Excellent analytical & numerical abilities.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator.
- Effective people management.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Flexibility & ‘Hands on’ accounting.
