The Business:

A respected and innovative software business who build products for some of the biggest organisations in UK. They currently outsource lots of their UX and Design work but are keen to bring more of a presence and more UX skills to the business internally, whilst continuing to utilise the support as needed.

The UX and Design Team:

The UX team is 1 person, growing to 3 with this hire and another. As mentioned though they collaborate closely with third parties and a wider network of contractors, whilst also working very closely with other areas of the business, such as Software Engineers, Sales, Account Management and C-suites.

Typical Duties of the UX Designer - don’t worry if you can’t do all of it, they will utilise your skills as you come and train you on the rest of it:

  • UCD, User Centred Design application
  • Provide UX Design and Research on projects
  • Wireframing, prototyping, creating user journeys and user stories
  • Leading a small team, prioritising work, mentoring and coaching
  • Educate, coach and empower the rest of the business with incorporating UX Design into their work
  • Design strategy
  • Advocate Design best practices
  • Be the go-to person for UX and Design ideas within the business and have people bouncing ideas around with you
