Salary of a Payroll & Finance Assistant

Up to £29,000 depending on experience.

Roles & Responsibilities of a Payroll & Finance Assistant

• Cash books, post transactions, and prepare monthly reconciliations to bank accounts
• Assist in the accurate and timely preparation and processing of payroll
• Maintain accurate employee records within payroll software, including new starters information, pension information and online portal access
• Maintain accurate records for all Government schemes in a timely and efficient manner
• Provide cover for the duties of the Payroll Supervisor during holidays and sickness
• Assist in the preparation and processing of BACs payments
• Control and reconciliation of weekly cashbooks, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded

Skills & experience of a Payroll & Finance Assistant

• Experience within Payroll or Finance administration
• Strong background in data inputting
• Good knowledge of Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
• Extensive experience in Microsoft Office programmes
• Understanding of payroll fundamentals, legislation and best practice
