Higher Level Teaching Assistant 

We are currently looking for a HLTA to work part time at an SEN school in Barrow from January 2022. 

Are you an experienced teaching assistant or higher learning teaching assistant?

Responsibilities of a HLTA:

• Confident and clear communication with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues

• To be well-organised resourceful and flexible, and able to think on their feet

• Have an clear understanding of how children learn and how to adapt tasks to suit their needs

• Have a good grasp of basic skills required for learning

• Experience of establishing positive relationships with students and the ability to empathise with their needs

For this role, applicants who apply will have:

• A minimum Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification (Supporting Teaching and Learning) 
• Confident communication skills and to be a motivator in the classroom (1-2-1 or small group support).
• A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).
