PURPOSE OF FUNCTION
Provides engineering support to enable production to achieve On Time Delivery and Quality targets.
Production Engineering is responsible for:
* Test equipment design, build, maintenance and calibration. Software and hardware
* Design and control of product labels
* Creation and control of production cell drawings and work instructions.
* With the maintenance department, design and build of production jigs and fixtures
* Approval of alternative components when needed
* Support R&D to sustain old products

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Managing the Production Engineering team in accordance with the requirements of the business and by the priorities of H&S, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Ensuring that objectives, projects and tasks are defined and monitored to completion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Ensure the provision and maintenance of test equipment (hardware and software).
* Lead the implementation of Engineering Change requirements, including New Product Introduction (NPI)
* Ensure maintenance of Production tooling / equipment is carried out.
* Ensure the maintenance of Production documentation and labels.
* SAP support for operational requirements; Part Numbers, Configurations, BOMS, maintenance of the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
* Ensure calibration of equipment and products are carried out to schedule.
* Lead projects and support of legacy products for hardware obsolescence issues, VAVE and Quality improvements.
* May be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Senior Production Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Bachelor's Degree in Electronics
* Experience in a Manufacturing environment, responsible for leading a team
* Practical Experience and knowledge of analogue and digital hardware design
* Experience of hardware design on 8/16/32 Microprocessor systems

* Working knowledge of developing and documenting functional test solutions e.g. using National Instruments hardware platform and Visual C# software.
* Design experience with any professional CAD package (ideally Altium/Solid works)
* Experienced in managing Gerber files for PCB's
* Experience of MRP systems, e.g. SAP.
