Up to £45,000 PA D.O.E
Permanent
Monday – Friday
9am – 5pm (flexibility needed)


My national client is looking to add a new Production Manager to their established team. They are leading within the waste management industry and have gone from £50M turnover to £52.2M within 18 months during the pandemic. This role would suit an experienced manager who has proven people management skills and is keen to improve the site to put their own marker on it.


The successful Production Manager will be expected to:

  • Oversea all production processes to ensure all processes and policies are being adhered.
  • Establish daily production meetings to educate the team of where any errors are to help them improve.
  • Set KPI’s and follow up with regularly to ensure they are being met and exceeded.
  • Identify training requirement for all production staff.
  • Be responsible for the allocation of manpower and the correct utilisation of staff to ensure production is running efficiently and at minimum cost.
  • To ensure all H&S is being adhered to and that all staff are wearing the correct PPE and that risk assessments are all up to date.
  • Ensure housekeeping is at the highest possible standard and that the factory hygiene is at the forefront of the production team’s mind.
  • Work well with the engineering team and prioritise tasks to be carried out by the engineers while working along side the Engineering Manager.
  • Take monthly meetings with senior management to report an overall update of production and KPI’s.
  • Motivate, discipline and be consistent with all staff and ensure action is taken if company procedures are not adhered to.

What do you need to be a successful Production Manager?

  • Management or supervisory experience within an engineering / manufacturing background.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems/software, especially excel spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong organisation/planning skills
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety and environment legislation/procedures
  • Basic understanding of project management principles
  • It would be advantageous to have Engineering ONC or equivalent qualification or experience
