API Developer, AWS, Python, Java, Remote, 

We require an experienced APIM Developer for an initial 6 months to assist in roadmap development of a strategic API Management system for an exciting government client in a critical transformation project.

Duties may include:

• Developing and extending Python-based AWS Lambda APIs
• Building new Java-based analytics reports
• Supporting the Lead Developer with development/delivery and testing of ServiceNow workflow integrations
• Assisting Testing and peer reviews of technical delivery
• Providing technical advice to internal users of the system

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

• Highly proficient in developing using both Python and Java
• Experience of building unit tests with Junit and mocking frameworks, e.g. Mockito
• Demonstrable knowledge of using Amazon AWS services including Lambda, EC2 and experience of the AWS CodePipeline
• Strong communications skills with evidence of an organised and structured approach to your work and ability to work within an agile scrum team environment

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

• A working knowledge of implementing or supporting APIs using an API Management solution (e.g. WSO2, Apigee)
• Development experience using Spring and Spring Boot
• Development experience using JavaScript
• Experience with git / github and the Atlassian toolset
• Good understanding of Maven
• Good understanding of Linux shell scripts (e.g. bash)
• Integration experience using REST APIs and JSON
• Understanding of OAuth2 and JWT
• Technical mentoring of junior engineers
