Job description As the Product Owner for our Success Factors capability, you will be responsible for successful roll out of the product, working closely with broader HR, our operational teams, Chief Digital Information Officer group (CDIO) and broader key stakeholders.

This is an exciting role, rich in opportunity and challenge for a person who is passionate about improving the employee experience and how HMRC can deliver HR a digital service. You’ll join the team at a time of exciting change across government as we move to five Shared services, one of which will be led by HMRC.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivery of the agreed Service Delivery Model for HR. This is our blueprint for how our services will be delivered to our colleagues, including the user journey they go on, how they access the services and their experience of using them.

This role is suitable for existing HMRC employees who are contractual homeworkers with occasional attendance to the office.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Championing clear communication and teamwork to provide a high-quality service that continuously adapts to meet the needs of our business, our users and changing business priorities.

• You will be responsible for the successful roll out of the product, working closely with HR Subject Matter Experts and IT Service Management to deliver its roadmap, integrity and accessibility, service performance and its exploitation. We want to build inclusive services that work for everyone.

• Becoming the key contact and subject expert for the product, defining the product vision, objectives, key success measures and criteria to enable performance measurement and analysis.

• Develop and lead the Success Factors product roadmap. Build realistic plans and success criteria. Anticipate & validate HR and employee needs; build user journey maps and develop deep knowledge of HR processes. Work with users, vendors and delivery partners to build services that meet our needs.

• Ensure a user-centred focus on design and implementation improving the user experience

• Collaborate with HR process owners, subject matter experts and employees as users and partner teams on requirements and system development.

• Take an Iterative product / service development approach to monitoring system performance (including feeds to and from other source systems), and incidents.

• Translate user needs and feedback into more detailed business requirements and write user stories; working with broader HR, Subject Matter Experts, CDIO, process owners and implementation partners to prioritise the product backlog and deliver iterative service improvements.

• Lead effectively on the change and process re-engineering required to implement successful services.

• Actively participate in networking with other product and service owners inside and outside government to share good practice and learning.

Essential Criteria

• Be an experienced leader and communicator, capable of developing an in-depth understanding of your service and be equipped to represent your platform and its users’ needs at all levels within the organisation.

• Relevant experience of SAP Success Factors implementation at scale – setting standards when it comes to the configuration control, structures, ergonomics and aesthetics, user experience and customer perception of the product.

• A good track record in working with senior customers, business leaders and senior supplier stakeholders, building strong relationships.

• Excellent understanding of HR processes.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of integration with ServiceNow

• Experience working as a product owner in agile delivery environments with a similar role in HR or IT organisation.

• A working foundation in service management or delivery frameworks such as ITIL, Prince2 and/or Agile.
