Production Planner - Samlesbury / remote - 6 months - £28.00/h UMB (Inside IR35)

Job Description Please be aware that this will be a role that will need to be undertaken on site at BAE SYSTEMS, Samlesbury. It is not a Working From Home role. An opportunity exists within Europe & International (E&I) Production Delivery UK for a Senior Production Planner to support the scheduling of the Typhoon Major / Minor Units lines across the Samlesbury site. As a Production Planner you will be responsible for managing the scheduling, resourcing and financial performance of the Typhoon Major / Minor Units production lines. This will involve driving Production Operations by monitoring, reporting and challenging performance and driving corrective recovery actions when behind schedule. Establish and balance workloads to discharge the demand within available capacity and ensure we meet our customer commitments. This role will be in a dynamic and fast paced environment, and will provide you with the opportunity and exposure to work within our major component production facilities. The role will require close collaboration working with various functions including Operations, Project Management, Logistics, Quality and Engineering. Additional Information

WORKING HOURS


- 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7am - 6pm Mon - Thurs, 7am - 12.30pm Fri).

- Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).
- Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours.
- Lunch break (unpaid) is 42 minutes which will automatically be deducted each working day from 12.30pm to 13.12pm by the electronic time management system.

- Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following: - Manage a detailed view of resource demand and capacity in line with the budget and schedule - Evaluate and control the embodiment of change, minimising overall business impact - Project Management of manufacturing related non-recurring activities - All structural jigs are cycle checked and tooling is calibrated to plan - Establish and manage the payment milestone schedule and sales programme - Maintenance of the control accounts including BCWS, ACWP and BCWP inclusive of formal cost and schedule variance analysis - Support routine operational reviews involving key stakeholders - Represent, manage and facilitate all external reporting demands across the various functions - Help drive improvements into the various toolsets that we currently use, by bringing new ideas that will ensure we continue to remain relevant in a diverse environment The Individual Essential Skills / Experience - Working experience of project or production scheduling in a detail manufacturing or supply chain environment - Experience in one or more of the following areas: Production Planning, Project Management or Project Control & Cost - Good analytical skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills - Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Project and Excel Desirable Skills / Experience - Experience of Manufacturing Engineering and change management - Awareness of various Manufacturing processes - Understanding of Continuous Improvement or Lean principles - Knowledge of ERP planning parameters in line with planning discipline governance - Experience in a detail / supply manufacturing facility
