Digital Support and Innovation (DSI) sits within HMRC’s wider Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) responsible for the department’s civil and criminal investigation work. FIS ensures that HMRC has an effective approach to taking on the most serious tax evasion and fraud.

Working across Law Enforcement and government, DSI provides investigative tools and covert techniques to front-line investigations and works with key partners to develop and provide access to new technology and systems to enable investigators to respond to serious and complex tax evasion and crime. Job description The Senior Business and HR Manager role in Digital Support and Innovation (DS&I) Infrastructure is vital to the successful delivery of the Technical Infrastructure business in support of Criminal and civil Investigations and offers varied and challenging work, including extensive management responsibilities, managing a quality service, including resourcing and task management. DSI Technology Team has recently expanded and requires a dedicated HR and support manager.

You will be responsible for managing and dealing with people related requirements for DS&I Infrastructure staff across 3 sites nationally, providing HR, developmental and training support and services to the team.

Responsibilities You will have demonstrable, effective verbal and written communication skills as they will be required to discuss and present Management Information (MI) with colleagues of all grades.

Main Responsibilities:

• HR & staff management of the DS&I Technology team across 3 sites nationally, requiring an element of travel.
• Support and delivery of Infrastructure MI; conducting urgent and essential management tasks; prioritising work and activity when required.
• Working with DSI technology managers to agree tasking and co-ordination of team resources
• Assisting the Technical Managers by constructing and implementing policies/guidance, writing SOPs and helping create
• Assurance of documentation in line with tasking and projects.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience of HR management of staff, to include dealing with regular and continued day to day management.
• DV required (SC minimum to be obtainable with a view to obtaining DV within 12 months)
• Experience of working with and/or applying HR guidance and procedures
• Experiencing of developing and mentoring staff
• Management of all aspects of team meetings, events and conferences.
• Experience of working with or in conjunction with technology and infrastructure support teams.
