Job Description:

THE ROLE

  • Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates
  • Identify and provide alternative design proposals, solutions and value engineering options
  • Construct and formulate estimates and resolve commercial issues
  • Visiting sites to undertake surveys and produce associated reports and tenders
  • Visiting other Bridges offices and sites in the Exeter and Maidstone regions
  • Production of accurate quotations including:
  • Maintaining quotation records as required
  • Ensuring profitability of quotations
  • Liaising with clients and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring an effective handover of jobs to Project Managers
  • Preparation of a programme of works for projects
  • Liaising with the Bid Manager in relation to the submission of bids and tenders
  • Interpretation of client requirements and ensuring compliance with client's standards.
  • Production of drawings, parts lists and any other information required
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and project managers to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Attending site meetings
  • Carrying out site investigation work as required
  • Ensuring profitability of quotations
  • Liaising with clients and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring an effective handover of jobs to Project Managers
  • Preparation of a programme of works for projects
  • Liaising with the Bid Manager in relation to the submission of bids and tenders
  • Ensuring quotation deadlines are managed and adhered to
  • Ensuring the production of accurate quotations
  • Ensuring that programmes are not provided to the client that aren't achievable

Requirements

  • Dynamic and specialist experience from an engineering / manufacturing / fabrication / production sector
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering or contracting services within the water sector
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision
  • Flexible working approach
  • Driving for work purposes will be required
